Trinidad and Tobago are the southernmost islands of the Caribbean archipelago, and are geologically an extension of the South American continent. Trinidad is separated from Venezuela by the seven (7) miles, (11km) strait of the Gulf of Paria. Transfers are handled by various service providers. These range from government agencies (bus service), taxi associations to several independently owned and operated vehicles. All commuter transport vehicles are designated by the letter 'H' in their vehicle number plates.
